How do I thaw a frozen turkey?
The USDA recommends thawing in the refrigerator approximately 24 hours for every 4 to 5 pounds or
in a cold water bath approximately 30 minutes per pound.
How do I cook a turkey?
Place on a rack in a roasting pan and roast in an oven, no less than 325°F, until inner thigh
and breast temps reach 165°F with a thermometer. Times vary by weight, but a reasonable guide
is 13-14 minutes per pound, unstuffed, or 16-17 minutes per pound stuffed. Always check with a
thermometer, though.
